Operations Executive

The Role

Beaufort Research are looking for an Operations Executive to help manage market research projects within the company. The role is a full-time position for a fixed term for 12 months. It will be worked on an annualised hours contract basis but will average around 150 hours per month. You will receive the same salary each month which will be one twelfth of your annual salary. The role will involve a mix of daytime, evening (up to 9pm) and some weekend work. We will be operating a hybrid approach to work which will involve some office-based work (in central Cardiff) but we expect the balance of this role to be undertaken remotely (at home).

The core element of the role will be managing a team of telephone interviewers who undertake surveys with members of the public, businesses and stakeholders. This will include recruitment, training, monitoring, performance management and support. In addition, the candidate will support the Operations Manager in a range of project related activities as well as general office and administrative duties. The candidate will work with members of staff throughout the company, having regular dealings with researchers at all levels, as well as with members of the public.

The Candidate

Experience of managing a telephone centre team, either in a contact centre or remotely, would be an advantage. Whilst some Market Research experience is desirable this is not essential, as full “on the job” training can be provided. It is more important that the successful candidate has the key qualities we are looking for.

You will be confident and focused and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to manage your time and duties in a professional and effective way, with minimal supervision. You must have a flexible attitude, work well under pressure, have the confidence to lead a team and use your own initiative to meet tight deadlines. You must be able to interact with people at all levels and work with them to deliver quality work. It is important to have strong technical skills including a good knowledge of Excel and Word (Microsoft Office).

Many of our projects involve a Welsh language element so fluency in Welsh would be an advantage but is not essential.
